How to Order FREE Supplies from USPS

Did you know that you can order free supplies from the post office? Yes, you read that right!

In today’s blog, I’m going to be walking you through the step-by-step process of how you can take advantage of this opportunity! I’ll also be sharing some of my personal favorites and the ones I like to keep on hand.

Step-by-Step

1. Go to usps.com

2. Click on Shop > Shipping Supplies.

3. Next, you will want to set your filters. Be sure that “Shipping Supplies” is selected under Category. Then select “Free Shipping Supplies” under Product Type.

Once you do this, you will be able to sort through all of the FREE options that are available!

4. Click on the product you wish to order > Choose quantity > then Add to Cart.

5. If you have an account with USPS, be sure to log in. Otherwise, you will need to create an account before proceeding to the next step!

6. Once your account is created and everything is added to your cart, select Check Out Now. Then, you will need to select your shipping address > and Ship to this address.

7. Next, you will want to select your shipping method. They offer expedited options, but I always go with the free one. If you ever get in a time crunch and need the supplies ASAP, you can always go to your local post office and pick them up!

8. Finally, verify that your total is $0 > Confirm Shipment.

Congratulations! You just ordered some FREE supplies. 🥳🥳

Personal Favorites

I don’t order a ton of supplies from USPS, simply because they can only be used for certain shipping methods. However, I like to keep some of them on hand! Listed below are some of my personal favorites.

Pros:

  • FREE 💰

  • Common Option for Shipping Items Less than a Pound on Amazon

  • Personal hack - I like to use as packing material in my FBA boxes

Cons:

  • Can only be used if you purchased Priority Mail Flat Rate Padded Envelope shipping

I also like to order these and keep a few on-hand; however, I typically use these more for larger items that I sell on eBay!

Conclusion

I definitely encourage you to look through all of the free supplies and select the ones that you feel would be the best fit for your business! I wouldn’t recommend over-ordering and/or being wasteful though. If something you order doesn’t work out, then you can always donate or recycle!

I hope you found this information helpful! You’ll have to let me know if you have any success with the free supplies.

XOXO,

Erica (Retail Rogue)
