4 Hours, 5 Stores, $454 Profit!

I cannot stress it enough, you should always source with a plan! This will prevent you from just mindlessly walking around the store not sure where to look or what to scan. But sometimes, spur of the moment sourcing trips are FUN (and profitable)!

In today’s blog, I’ll be sharing one of my recent spur of the moment trips with you, as well as all of the random thoughts that entered my head while I was out! 😂

So, let’s dive right in…

First up was Staples! Unfortunately, my town doesn’t have a UPS store, so this is where I have to drop off all of my FBA packages. This is a real bummer, but I make it work!

I can never just drop off my packages and leave, though. I always have to do a little sourcing, and I’m so glad I did because it paid off!

I was in Staples for about 1 hour, spent $111.14, and am expected to profit $220.92!

If you only get ONE thing from this blog and video, let it be this:

MAKE FRIENDS WITH YOUR STORE MANAGERS! Oh, and use your coupons!

This quick trip into Staples wouldn’t have been near as profitable if I wouldn’t have negotiated on the price with the store manager. 9 times out of 10, stores managers don’t care what you do with the products as long as you pay for them! Like Amazon Sellers, they just want to make the sale and get rid of old inventory.

After Staples, I went right next door to Gabe’s. If you’re unfamiliar with Gabes, it’s kind of like a TJ Maxx or Ross. Their inventory is like TJ Maxx, but their store appearance and cleanliness is like Ross!

I’ve found profitable items to sell every time I go sourcing here, which is why I keep going, but I secretly hate it! At this location, the bathrooms are right up front, and it always smells like 💩.

My favorite section to source here is health and beauty. There are so many hidden gems. Check this one out!

This one is clearly profitable, and the sales rank was just as good! But unfortunately, the packages were all damaged and I had to leave them behind. So, treat this as a free Gabe’s BOLO!

I ended up buying only 7 items in the hour spent sourcing at Gabe’s. I spent $64.93 (thanks to a $25 off coupon) and am expected to profit $154.47!

Then, I made quick trips into Kroger, Five Below, and TJ Maxx. I love TJ Maxx and go there often, but I really only ever go to Kroger and Five Below to look for a few hot items. IYKYK.

If you watch the full video, then it’s obvious that this is when I was starting to get tired and hungry. I didn’t keep as many detailed notes and, to be honest, I’m not really sure how much I should profit from each store. Whoops!

I ended my day by donating some unsold dog treats to the local shelter! I’m a sucker for dogs, especially shelter dogs, and just wanted to make their day a little bit brighter.

Here are my pups, in case you’re interested. I’m kind of obsessed and will share pics of them whenever I get the chance!

So, all in all I sourced at 5 stores in about 4 hours. Spent $268.52 and am expected to profit $454.33, which is about $113/hr!
