How I Made $1,974 Profit in Two Days!

Picture it, Walmart, 2021. Anyone else get the Golden Girls reference or just me?

December 11, 2021 will always be of significant importance to my Amazon business. On this day, I surpassed all goals I had set for myself, reached record high sales, and realized the potential that selling on Amazon has. All thanks to one item!!

As a new seller, I would get annoyed, and even discouraged, when I would see sellers talk or write about how they made 'X' amount of money by selling products on Amazon. It all seemed too good to be true and too far out of reach. But in reality, it's all achievable, even for new sellers! It can take only one item to truly change your business (and possibly your life).

In this post, I will share how I made $1,974 profit in two days on just one lead from the BOLO group!

If you're familiar with my blog, then you already know how passionate I am about Nikki Kirk's BOLO group and this post will explain one of the reasons why. If you're new here, then you can learn more about the BOLO group from one of my previous blog postshere.

Long story short, a toy lead was posted in the BOLO group by another member. It had all things going for it... popular brand, low sales rank, high margins. Oh, and I can't forget to mention that it was not only Q4, but also less than 2 weeks until Christmas! AKA the FBM goldmine.

My husband and I went to Walmart to look for this one specific toy and, lo and behold, they were in stock! This particular Walmart had four cases of 33 units. I did my own due diligence and researched the product myself, as you should with every item you buy to sell on Amazon.

I didn't want to go too deep too soon because it's a little intimidating spending thousands of dollars on one item. So, I put one case in my cart and listed FBM while I was in the store. By the time I finished up my grocery shopping, I had already sold half of that case!

I will never forget - I was literally standing in the check-out line watching the units sell by the second. Here's some Amazon screenshots from that day:

Talk about an adrenaline rush! I ended up buying all 132 units that were in stock and they sold out in less than 12 hours!

Fast forward to the next day... I stayed home because I had 132 units to pack up but sent my husband on a wild goose chase to find more. He stopped at three different Walmart's and ended up picking up an additional 124 units! And, once again, they sold out by the time we went to bed that night.

If you want to test your mental toughness, try sitting in one place for an entire day packing 256 toys into bubble mailers.

I literally couldn't work fast enough - the number of "unshipped" items kept going up even though I was actively printing labels and confirming shipments. As an Amazon seller, this is a pretty cool problem to have!

I started packing items first thing in the morning and didn't get finished until 5 or 6 that evening. I wanted to go find more but I was mentally and physically exhausted when it was all said and done!

Here's all the packages that I ended up with:

... and here's all the packages after my dog ran into them!

The fun doesn't stop with buying and packing because the next day I had to deliver all these packages to the post office! I ended up having to make two trips and both times my car was as full as it could be. It was a little awkward, if I'm being honest, but definitely worth it for the money!

Moral of the story?

Don't sleep on the BOLO group and don't be afraid to trust your gut and clear shelves when you've found a lead similar to this one!
