I'm Becoming a Full-Time Amazon Seller!

If you follow me on Instagram or read my blog, then you know that I've been selling on Amazon part-time while also working my full-time nursing job. You're also probably aware that it was always my plan to become a full-time Amazon seller, once my husband and I were financially independent. But, in a turn of events, this distant dream became a reality.

So, now that the secret is out... Goodbye, 9 to 5!

I become a full-time Amazon Seller!

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't going through all the emotions.

Stepping away from a profession that I worked so hard for to focus on my business is terrifying. I'm scared of failure, but also excited for the new challenge!

Starting a business from the ground up and watching it grow, thanks to no one but me, has been so rewarding. I see the potential that selling on Amazon has and am so excited to see what I can do when this is my full-time job and primary focus!

So, what am I doing in the weeks leading up to going full-time?

Well, first and foremost, I've been staying pretty busy wrapping up a few last-minute things with my current job and training my replacement. While this has put a bit of a damper on my sourcing trips, the downtime has also been kind of nice! I've still been sourcing and sending in my weekly shipments, but not at the volume that I would like and that's okay.

During this time, I've also been working on getting my office organized. I want my shipping and prepping processes to be as efficient as possible so I can put more of my focus on sourcing.

As a soon-to-be former nurse working in the corporate world, I learned to live by my calendar. If it's not on my schedule or list of to-dos, I'm probably not going to do it.

Therefore, in these next few weeks I plan to map out what a typical week will look like for me as a full-time seller. I know that several sellers out there only work part-time, and that's definitely the end goal, but in the beginning, I plan to work full-time hours so that I can continue to scale my business. I want to out earn my current salary and, hopefully one day, my husband's as well.

This is what I envision a typical "work week" will look like.

Monday's and Wednesday's will be my big sourcing trips, where I travel and source for 8+ hours a day. I want to source as much as possible, but I also know that I need to set time aside to start prepping my items so I can send in the shipment by the end of the week. So, on Tuesday's and Thursday's I plan to do some prepping, but also some sourcing in close proximity to my house so that it doesn't interfere with my workout routine.

Working in healthcare, I've had to learn to adapt, be flexible, and expect the unexpected. I feel like all of these things will be important as a full-time seller, as you never know what Q4 will bring or when you'll find that next hot item that you want to hunt for!

And, lastly, I've been working on the big reveal!

I've contemplated sharing my true identity on here for really no good reason at all. I guess I've just liked the suspense and secrecy behind it!

Most of my family, friends, and peers are unaware of my Amazon Selling journey, blog, and social media presence. I tend to worry too much about what other people think, but in reality... who cares? Because if I can encourage one person to begin their Amazon selling journey, start their own business, or work toward financial independence, then it's all worth it for me!

So, here's to me turning over a new leaf and putting all of those worries behind! Be on the lookout for my "big reveal" post coming soon.

Thanks for following along on my journey! The best is yet to come.
