What is Retail Arbitrage?

There are three different sellers on Amazon. You have Retailer Arbitragers (that's me!), Wholesalers, and Private Labelers.

If you are interested in learning more about retail arbitrage (RA), you’re in the right place.

RA simply means that you are purchasing items from retail stores and flipping them for a profit. I know what you're thinking... it sounds too good to be true. But I can assure you, it's not!

These items can be on sale, clearance, or even full price. Pro Tip: Don’t be afraid to leave the clearance aisle! You'll be amazed at the profit that is out there once you figure out what you're doing and develop your confidence.

My personal favorite retail stores to source in are Walmart, Target, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, and Ross. But you can literally shop at any store you like, as long as you can buy brand new, authentic products there.

If this process is done online, it’s referred to as online arbitrage (OA). All the same steps apply, except you can source from your couch.

I have yet to master the art of OA, as I find it to be a little more tedious. However, I have had some luck finding items online from Kohls and The Vitamin Shoppe.

As you can see, the opportunities are endless if you think outside the box. From sourcing Disney's Bing Bong to Safe + Fair granola, there are plenty of profitable items out there. You just have to be willing to put in the work and step outside of your comfort zone!
